Transparency is the foundation of trust.
Clear, direct answers about care, carers, costs and getting started.
What types of home care do you provide?
Vel Home Care provides live-in, visiting, dementia, overnight, respite and specialist or complex care, subject to assessment and availability.
Do I need to know which service I need?
No. Describe the current situation, routines and concerns, and we will help you understand which options may be suitable.
Are there hidden management costs or setup fees?
No. Initial home consultations and Support Plan development are free and carry no obligation. Ongoing care rates are presented clearly and on an all-inclusive basis from the beginning.
How is a care plan created?
We begin with a free consultation and assessment covering health needs, routines, mobility, medication, nutrition, preferences and family involvement, then agree a tailored plan with you.
How quickly can care begin?
Timing depends on the assessment, care requirements, location and suitable-carer availability. Contact us early and we will explain the realistic next steps.
Can our care plan change if our health needs evolve?
Yes. We review care regularly and adapt schedules, specialist tasks or the care team as circumstances change, supported by first-week, first-month and quarterly reviews.
Can different care services be combined?
Yes. A plan can combine personal care, companionship, overnight, respite or specialist support according to assessed needs.
How are your home carers selected, vetted and trained?
We use a strict selection and background-checking process. Every carer receives ongoing training and support under registered nurse leadership, and matching considers skills, personality, interests and communication style.
What makes Vel Home Care nurse-led?
Nursing experience informs assessment, care planning, team guidance and review, helping us recognise changing needs and coordinate support appropriately.
Can you help after a hospital discharge?
Yes. We can work with the individual, family and relevant professionals to plan a supported return home and adjust care during recovery.
Is live-in care the same as continuous waking care?
No. A live-in carer needs agreed rest and sleep periods. If active support is required throughout the night, additional waking-night arrangements may be recommended.
What happens if an emergency occurs outside normal office hours?
Existing clients and their relatives can access responsive management support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including urgent schedule changes and short-notice hospital discharge requests.
Can a relative or professional contact you?
Yes. Relatives, friends and health or social care professionals may enquire where appropriate. We will still respect the individual’s privacy, choices and consent.
